Geoman, that job, like most commercial work I used to do, was designed off sample boards. As I recall, Ultrastone was the route we wanted to go, but they wanted more variation in the mottling. Their point of reference for the project was a restaurant floor that was just acid stained concrete with a lot of color variation. Like many jobs, the customer dictated what we eventually did. As long as I was confident we could produce good looking results, I'd go with the technique that meet the needs of the customer via a sample. Some jobs, we told the customer we weren't going to do what they wanted...some things you don't want your name on whether or not the customer wants it or not. And no, there is no wear on the floor, that is just the color close up with a flash photo. That was AUS with wax on it, and it has been re coated with wax twice (once a year)..there is zero anywhere on the floor, same sheen as when we left it.

Majestic, I walked over to the nice folks at the Sure Crete outdoor booth at WOC in January carrying their brochure that had my photo in it. I told them who did it when and where and that it was an Elite Crete job. I told them I was glad they liked it, but asked them to remove it. They acted appropriately embarrassed and assured me it would be removed, but I'm sure they had printed a gazillion of them already. I will follow up again with the Sure Crete boys via their website, hard to believe they have that on their website after I made them aware of their mistake. Thanks for looking out.
