The walkway looks very nice. We are new installers and was wondering how you did this finish. I like that it was a solid color around the edge and different in the middle. If you dont mind could you let us know. Thanks.

This customer wanted my input on what kind of finish would be the best. I have a 5000 ft. sq. project coming up for a texture trowel so I sold her that so I could practice for the upcoming job. She wanted to match the brick colors.... Sure!
I used 3 oz of brick with 1 oz chocolate in the tf as base color to make a mauve. Slop troweled, (troweled the tf on, placed my trowel flat and just smear it around, trying to cover up trowel and pattern marks.) I used buff, brown and ruby at 3/1 and chocolate at 6/1. The borders were "painted" on with brown 3/1. 2 coats of 2/1 sealer. Note: I really try to stay away from putting too much color down. It becomes dark when sealed. This has been a habit I have worked hard at to avoid. This project was too dark for my liking. The customer liked the richness of colors. A little under a 1000 ft. sq. and used 8 bags of tf total. gene in indy |

Will do, just give me a day or so. These 15 hour days are getting my shorts in a wad. You know, I really need to slow down and see if I'm making any money. I think I am, I would like to see it on paper. Dorothy is taking really good care of the office, and she's a sweet heart on the books. Good on the phone and she has the bs down almost as good as me.
As far as the flying. That's my passion. I take off, and all is well. No @#%$ head trying to sell me cut off blades, no product salesmen giving me "Ours is better at half the cost" Just me and the world below. Hell, I'm an instructor and I cut that crap short to just fly for my own twizzle. That pic is my old machine when I flew it from Dayton Ohio to Kitty Hawk, NC. for the 100 year anniversary of the Wright brothers. My new trike is a 4 stroke that will climb at 1500 ft. a minute. A rocket ship. Everybody needs a private time to do their thang, mine is in the air. I do video of my escapades. Flight from Indy to Sun-n- Fun in Florida, Flying in Arizona, Checking out the babes flying the Florida coast. Flying up to Oshkosh WI. in a few weeks for the big bang up there. If you are into flying, you'd love this stuff. I retired from skydiving to do this.... and that's the biggest endorphin high you can get. It's not all free wheeling, you need to learn airspace, radio, and how not to kill yourself..... or your passenger. A lot cheaper than general aviation, and a whole lot more fun. Got's to get some sleep..... gene in Indy |
