How exactly are you getting that texture Kajun?

I'll bet 50/50 TF/MF or at least 75/25. Trowel it with slight overlap on each pass of trowel. Score, stain, seal & cash check.

7qts. h2o to a bag of thin finish (no micro involved, would work though), wet the surface, dump it out in rows and trowel it around lightly, you don't want to hear your trowel grinding the skim coat beneath, that makes it look grainy to me. make sure you change your pattern up. work the trowel kinda like your magic trowel. make sense to ya? make sure you keep a wet edge or you will see were you stopped and started with a new bucket.

I love it. How many skims before your "texture coat"? Have you done it with stencil tape?

Hey Kajun,
First off let me say this: Great Job! Color combination looks excellant along with the troweling work. I'd like to ask you if I could? When troweling down...How thick are you looking to put it down? Your not using the guage rake are you? Did you arrive at the finish texture when you first put it down or did you hit it a 2nd or 3rd time when it set up alittle? And did you do it using a steel trowel or a mag or wood float? It you did it hitting it only once using a steel trowell.. I'll have to commend you. Either way..excellant!!!! |

hey great job! What is your trick to cutting your lines? do you snap a line? and what type of saw do you use - I'm more accustomed to the tape but I do like the saw cut and it may be quicker...........
